Monday Meditation: Sacred Mirrors

This past week—in coaching sessions and in my own life—I’ve been reminded of a humbling, empowering truth:
Our experience comes from our own thinking.
For a long time, I believed that people or circumstances could make me upset. Living from that place led to blame, judgment, and shame. (And trust me—I still fall into that sometimes.)
But I’m beginning to see, again and again, that the upset I feel—whether it’s from a hurtful comment or a health concern I can’t control—is actually a signal. A sacred nudge turning me back toward myself.
When I pause to feel the upset (rather than explain it away), I often find a part of me that’s hurting, asking for attention.
And when I don’t? I react to the world instead of responding from wisdom.
This way of seeing is both liberating and humbling. It teaches us that everything—every person, every challenge—is a sacred mirror, inviting us into healing and growth. It’s all for us.
🌀 Freedom lies in our ability to meet what arises, rather than resist it.
(Note: This perspective doesn’t excuse harmful behavior or dismiss systemic injustices. It’s about how we relate to our inner world in the face of outer experiences.)
So this week, when something stirs your emotions, try this:
✨ Pause.
✨ Feel it.
✨ Get curious.
✨ Let it move through you.
And then—listen.
Your own wisdom is waiting.
If you explore this, I’d love to hear what you discover. DM me with reflections or questions.
With Love,
Gillian
